Announcement Script for an English Day

 

This is the announcing script used for the English Day programme in Buonavista College. If anyone find a model announcing script for an English Day, you may use this making relevant changes. The students' names are given as they were. 

Opening

Maleesha: Blissful day to our distinguished guests, the principal, teachers, parents and my beloved bounavistians. This is a landmark day for our college. After the reconstruction of Bounavista collage, here we are ready to have our very first English day in this brand new auditorium, Akithma.

Akithma:  Indeed Maleesha, we are really fortunate to be a part of this momentous exhibition. So, here we are ready to showcase the budding talents of our Bounavistians.

Both: This is the English Day celebrations of Bounavista College 2023 (music)

 

Welcome speech

Maleesha: We are pleased to have your presence to witness our talents. We cordially invite the vice principal, Mr. S.P. Vitanage to welcome you all.

Akithma: Thank you very much sir. Now, we are all set to start our English day celebrations. First, to have a delightful beginning, we proudly welcome the school junior choir group to entertain you with their wonderful melody.

Maleesha: Thank you, that was amazing. Special thank should go to Miss. Stephani Grabau for guiding them to perform such a wonderful presentation.

Akithma: Next programme is going to be a special programme. It will be conducted by our Juniour announcers Vindi and Hiruni.

 

Poem Recitation Programme

Vindi: Wonderful morning to you all. Here, on the stage you can see the buonavistians who represented and won places at divisional and zonal level English Day Competitions. Hiruni,

Hiruni:  Yes,Vindi now they are ready to show their wonderful recitations for you. First, let’s listen to ……………. of grade 06, she will tell you what happened to Betty at the Party.

Vindi: Isn’t it sweet. Next, my sister Aloka will tell how much she loves homeworks.

Hiruni: Thanks Aloka, we all love home works, isn’t that so? Next, Gyangi from grade 08 is going to tell about a cute SHEEP.

Vindi: well, that’s a conversation between a farmer and a sheep. Next, let’s see what our brother Dewmith is going to recite.

Hiruni: Nice, and thank you, Now, our elder sister Rasani from grade 10 is going to tell a nice story of a crocodile and a dentist. I’m sure you all will be going to enjoy it.

Vindi: It was humorous, thanks sister. Finally, Sister Shemeera from grade 11 will recite the poem the Charge of the light brigade by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Hiruni: Thankyou Sister, Thank you everyone. Well, that concludes our poem recitation programme and over to you Maleesha and Akithma.

Maleesha: Thankyou Vindi and Hiruni, You have done a wonderful job. Next, it is the time to award certificates for School level winners for recitation.

Maleesha: Actually I really don’t know what it is, Let’s ask Senuka.

Junior Drama

Hiruni: Do you like sports Vindi?

Vindi:  I love sports, but Hiruni, Do you know I don’t have time to play because of studies.

Hiruni: Vindi, Our junior drama group is going to stage a drama about that.

Vindi: Wonderful, Do you know they have won the first place in Divisional level and 3rd place in the zonal level English day Drama competitions.

Hiruni: We are proud about them. Let’s call our junior drama group to entertain you with their drama.

Vindi: Your presence made us feel important. Dear sir/madam, We love to hear what you have to express about our English Day 2023. We cordially invite …………………………. to the stage to enlighten us.

Solo song

Maleesha: Thankyou ……………………….., your words meant us a lot. So, We feel that it is the time for little entertainment. We welcome our junior choir member …………………………… to present a solo presentation.

Prepared Speech

Akithma: That was splendid. Thank you very much. Next item would give you a different aesthetic mood. I call upon Viduni from grade 11 to deliver an extract from Mark Anthony’s speech.

Senior Drama

Maleesha: It is time to go to a classic drama by William Shakespeare. The senior drama team is ready to perform the Midsummer’s Night dream on the stage.

Akithma: Do you know? This drama adaptation is written and directed by our grade 11 sisters Senuka Dahamdi and Amasha Prashali. We are really proud call you as bounavistian dramatists.

Maleesha: definitely, they have won the first place at the divisional level English day drama competitions. Let’s open the stage for them. Ladies and gentlemen, Midsummer’s night dream by senior drama crew.

Awarding Mrs. Kaluarachchi script award

Akithma: Now the stage is set for a very special moment. We are going to award Mrs. Kaluarachchi script award for the best student who performed best at English Day competitions.

Maleesha: Mrs. Kaluarachchi had done a great service as an English teacher and lead the school to many victories in the field of English. We miss her and owe her for the great service rendered.

Akithma: To give away the award, I cordially invite the principal, the pioneering figure who have stood behind our ENGLISH DAY PROGRAMME. He will be accompanied by ………………………………

Maleesha: The best student award goes to ………………………………… of ……………………….. Please give a big round of applause.

Vote of thank

Maleesha: We witnessed much great talents of our bounavistians. However, we are about to the end of our English Day celebrations 2023.

Akithma: Last but not the least, we invite Mrs. Nirasha, the head of the English section to deliver the vote of thanks.

Maleesha: Thankyou very much madam, you have been the strength of us. So, we have come to the end of Our English Day celebrations 2023

Akithma: We hope to meet you in next year to witness the talents of Bounavistians. So until then, Good luck to you all.
